Scott Schumacher’s practice focuses on Business Law, Cyber Law, Internet Law, Trademark Law, Drone Law, and Estate Planning. Scott’s Cyber Law practice includes domain name disputes and cybersquatting, cybersecurity, ransomware, privacy, and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance. Scott leverages his extensive experience developing solar projects to help his clients with negotiating Power Purchase Agreements, site licenses and leases, renewable energy finance, and utility interconnection. Finally, Scott is a Part 107 certified commercial drone pilot. Scott helps his clients navigate through complex regulatory compliance, Part 107 waivers, and to establish in-house drone policy and procedure manuals.
Before starting his law office, Scott was a solar project developer for the largest commercial solar developer in the United States. In his career, Scott has developed over $100 million of commercial solar projects for private, municipal, school district and sovereign Native American clients. While working for a manufacturing startup in the solar materials industry, Scott was responsible for Information Technology and Security. At the time, Scott was a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Apple Certified Specialist.
